Puebla will host Foodie Black Week 2026 for the first time outside Spain, an initiative aimed at promoting gastronomy, tourism, and local commerce. The event will take place from September 4 to 13 and will bring together restaurants, hotels, cafés, businesses, entertainment centers, and traditional cooks.

The activity originated in Catalonia, Spain, four years ago, with the goal of boosting the economy of cities and regions through gastronomy and tourism experiences. Puebla will now become the first location outside Spain to host this initiative.

The State Government, led by Alejandro Armenta Mier, is working in coordination with the private sector to take advantage of the state’s gastronomic richness and showcase it to both residents and visitors.

During the presentation of the event, the governor emphasized the importance of working together with the productive sector to promote activities that generate benefits for the population.

He also noted that Hermanos Serdán International Airport will be part of the promotional efforts related to Foodie Black Week, with the intention of contributing to the arrival of visitors and strengthening tourism activity in Puebla.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Economic Development and Labor Víctor Gabriel Chedraui explained that the initiative seeks to strengthen local consumption and commerce, while also helping position Puebla as a gastronomic destination at the national and international levels.

The inauguration of Foodie Black Week Puebla 2026 will take place on September 3 at 5:00 p.m. at Parque del Arte. Afterwards, from September 4 to 13, participating establishments will offer different promotions, special menus, and experiences for their customers.

So far, around 350 establishments have already joined the platform. These include restaurants, hotels, cafés, taco shops, entertainment centers, and businesses connected to the tourism sector.

The general director of Foodie Black Week Mexico, Charly Meier, explained that during the 10 days of the event, people will be able to discover different establishments and enjoy their gastronomic and lodging offerings.

He said that the project seeks to generate greater economic activity through the joint participation of business owners, authorities, and workers in the sector.

He also invited families from Puebla and tourists to take advantage of the promotions and special experiences that will be available during the event.

The president of CANIRAC, Juan José Sánchez Martínez, stated that Foodie Black Week represents an opportunity to strengthen the restaurant sector and increase its competitiveness. He also considered that these activities could help Puebla become a gastronomic reference.

Meanwhile, the president of CANACO Puebla, Héctor Landero Camacho, reported that nearly 350 businesses have already joined the initiative and said that a positive impact is expected for sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and other businesses.

The president of the Business Coordinating Council, Juan Pablo Cisneros Madrid, highlighted that the event will allow Puebla’s offerings to be presented to more visitors and generate economic activity. He also noted that it could contribute to recreational and business tourism, as well as the creation of employment opportunities for women and young people.

With Foodie Black Week 2026, Puebla seeks to use its gastronomy as a tool to attract visitors, strengthen local businesses, and showcase the diversity of flavors, products, and traditions that form part of the state’s identity.

The initiative also represents collaboration between authorities and business owners to promote tourism and the local economy, with the expectation that Puebla will establish itself as one of Mexico’s leading gastronomic destinations.
