The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Chiapas confirmed this Sunday night that the human remains located on the Ocozocoautla -Cintalapa highway section at kilometer 91 correspond to Carlos Amadeo Moguel Aguirre, one of the four missing since last December 6. December 2023.
According to information from family members, Amadeo along with two more friends, Jesús Esteban Mazariegos Moreno and Jorge Pérez Matuz, as well as the driver named José Luis Sánchez Ovalle were picked up by armed individuals in a restaurant located west of Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
However, four days after the illegal abduction of the men, human remains were located on the Pan-American Highway when some people who were walking through the scene noticed that a human head was on a wooden box and to one side, a beer can with a cardboard that contained a message, a black bag with possible human remains was also allegedly located at the scene.
Given these events, the security elements implemented a mobilization and cordoned off the area to carry out the corresponding expertise.
For its part, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), through the Central District Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed the facts and initiated an investigation file for the discovery of a human head, until now unknown.
He explained that the elements of the FGE Investigative Police and an expert team made up of experts in various matters apply the corresponding Action Protocol for the removal of the located part of the body and possible evidence.
The remains were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service where the corresponding expert examination will be carried out, while three of the four missing persons are still unknown.
