San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas.- Members of the group “Sí Podemos” will carry out the course Mexican Sign Language (LSM), basic level, a form of communication for people with hearing disabilities.
They indicated that Mexican Sign Language is the natural language of deaf people, which is why it is an important tool for the social inclusion of people with hearing disabilities in various areas.
They added that unlike other courses that are given in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, this course is taught by a deaf teacher, which allows a natural and meaningful teaching of this language.
They reported that the course starts on January 20, and will be every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for two months, in the spaces of the Carlos Jurado Cultural Center, in the center of San Cristóbal de Las Casas.
“It is always important to learn it directly from the deaf, because it forces you to know in the best way, it is about opening to the citizenship this invitation to approach this workshop that is taught by a teacher who is deaf,” he said.
They announced that the invitation is open to those interested in learning this type of communication that, like any language, has its own syntax, grammar and vocabulary.
Finally, they reported that family members or deaf people can participate, and that the course is also open to the public, “there are still spaces for those who like to learn”.
