There is a historical record of 2,003 reports of missing persons, of which 1,311 have been found; 131 of them lifeless

La Paz, Baja California Sur.- According to the National Registry of Missing and Unlocated Persons (RNPDNO), administered by the National Search Commission, Baja California Sur has a historical total of 2,003 reports of missing, unlocated and located persons.

The RNPDNO, created in 2019 to consolidate data on missing people, specifies that of the total number of reports in Baja California Sur, 692 remain missing and not located; and of those 1,311 located, 1,180 were found alive and 131 dead.

La Paz occupies first place in the official reporting of disappearances in Baja California Sur, with 588 men and 341 women; followed by Los Cabos with 446 and 267, respectively; Comondú with 60 and 32; Mulegé with 65 and 23, and Loreto with 19 and 12.

The registry establishes that the rest of the cases do not have a reference municipality. In total there is a cumulative 1,286 reports of missing men, 716 women and one undetermined.

The statistics reveal that of the 692 cases of missing and not located, 582 correspond to men and 110 to women, among them 6 from the United States, two from Honduras, one from Canada and one from England, the rest are of Mexican nationality. .

In 2024 as of May 7, there is a record of 125 missing people, not located and located in Baja California Sur, a figure lower than that of the same period in 2023 when 201 were counted, according to the National Registry of Persons Missing and Not Located (RNPDNO).

The statistics from January 1 to May 7, 2024, report 32 missing and not located people, as well as 92 located, one dead.

By municipality, Los Cabos occupies first place in 2024 in reporting missing, unlocated and located persons with 66 cases, followed by La Paz with 48, Mulegé with 4, Comondú with 3 and Loreto with 1, leaving 3 unspecified. Of all the cases, 70 corresponded to men and 55 to women.

In the same period of 2023, 201 missing people were recorded, 44 not located and 157 located, of which 5 were found dead and 152 alive.

In contrast to 2023, between January 1 and May 7 the number of missing people was higher in La Paz than in Los Cabos, with 110 and 73, respectively.

There were also 7 disappearances reported in Loreto, 3 in Mulegé, 7 in Comondú and one unspecified. Of the total reports, 114 corresponded to men and 87 to women.

At the national level, there have been 8,542 reports of disappearances so far in 2024, of which 4,090 remain missing and 4,451 have been located, 239 dead and 4,212 alive.
