According to Obregón, the storm occurred 18 miles from Laredo, Texas, in a region crossed by Highway 59 along the so-called small border, near the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.
Rain
Since two in the afternoon, weather prediction sites had issued a warning about the development of a storm system originating in the Sierra de Nuevo León, which would move north, passing near the cities of Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
The official Municipal Civil Protection pages also alerted the population about the presence of the meteorological phenomenon.
Danger when driving
Fortunately, the storms did not directly impact the urban areas of Dos Laredos, but they did affect the area where 59 passes, creating dangerous conditions for drivers.
Despite the intensity of the phenomenon, the storms decreased, giving way to cloudy skies.
Meanwhile, in Dos Laredos, the weather remained mostly sunny with some clouds, with no chance of rain and far from the severe meteorological event that hit the region near Highway 59.
The community remains attentive to weather updates and recommendations from authorities to avoid incidents in the event of possible future storms.
