Mexican art! Exhibition held in Baja California

A kaleidoscope full of talent
It is said that you have to observe Baja Californians slowly to distinguish them. And that is the only way to distinguish the exuberance of the Tijuana native from the shyness of the Ensenada native, or the frankness of Cachanilla from the cheerful confidence of the Rosarito native. Something similar happens with art.

“It is a very developed language, very different from each and every artist. So, I think that is what distinguishes this community in particular,” explains Del Águila.

The exhibition Tierras Únicas: Identidades de Baja California, installed in the International Gallery of the Center of the Arts of Rosarito, is a great opportunity to get closer to these languages, through the work of 58 artists, some of whom have exhibited in museums such as the Louvre in Paris.

Unlike other places in Mexico, where you see the color and the theme and say ‘ah, this is from such a place!’, for example, Oaxaca. Not here, here there really are many techniques, many styles, many unique styles.

There, with themes ranging from the famous Tijuana zebra donkey to the UFOs that are supposed to fly over the La Rumorosa area, Baja Californian creators show their inexhaustible talent.

Tierras Únicas: Identidades de Baja California is now available at the Centro de las Artes in Rosarito and you can visit it from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
