Volaris announced the launch of its new route from Cancun, Quintana Roo to McAllen, Texas.
In a statement, the Mexican low-cost airline indicated that, with this new international route, its operation and offer of destinations between both nations are strengthened.
At the event, held at the McAllen Airport, Fernanda Pereda, Sales and Market Development Manager for the United States of Volaris, cut the ribbon in the company of authorities and special guests.
“We are very grateful for the support and facilities provided by the authorities and the McAllen airport to make this route possible, with which we strengthen our position as the main connection that unites the Latino communities with their loved ones in Mexico, in addition to facilitating access for American travelers to the most important tourist destinations in Mexico, such as Cancun,” she said.
The airline indicated that the new route will operate with two weekly frequencies (Wednesdays and Saturdays), providing direct connectivity between two strategic points that promote the development of tourism and business in both countries.
The airline detailed that the citizens of McAllen will be able to benefit from the competitive prices offered by Volaris to travel to Cancun, a leading tourist destination in Latin America and one of the most popular in Mexico for its white sand beaches and turquoise waters.
The new route to McAllen will not only facilitate the flow of tourists between both cities, but will also boost trade and strengthen cultural ties. Quintana Roo continues to work hard to offer travelers convenient and accessible options, and this new flight is a significant step in that direction, said Bernardo Cueto, Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo.
In addition, he said, this launch is in line with the new era of tourism led by Governor Mara Lezama, who has actively promoted the growth and development of the tourism sector in our state.
“We are very pleased to see how Volaris continues to expand its routes from Cancun, one of the most important tourist destinations in Mexico,” he added.
For his part, the mayor of the city of McAllen, Javier Villalobos, expressed that the non-stop service to Cancun opens a world of leisure and business opportunities with its beautiful beaches, rich cultural heritage and vibrant tourism industry.
“Now, thanks to Volaris Airlines, our residents can enjoy the convenience of direct flights to this paradise to make traveling to Cancun more efficient and enjoyable,” he said.
Volaris said that with this new route, Mexican tourists will be able to enjoy the exceptional hospitality and services offered by McAllen, known for its numerous outlets and discount stores, which allows visitors to access high-quality products and amenities.
In addition, this city has tourist attractions such as the International Museum of Art and Science (IMAS) and the Performing Arts Center, where you can enjoy classical music, theater, opera and ballet, making each visit a complete and enriching experience, he said.
