On the morning of Friday, November 22, a passenger truck on Route 70 overturned at kilometer 21 of the Mexico-Cuernavaca federal highway, near La Cañada, leaving a preliminary balance of approximately 30 people injured.
Details of the accident
According to witnesses, the truck was traveling at excessive speed when the accident occurred. Some passengers and passersby said that the unit could have run out of brakes, which would have caused the loss of control and subsequent rollover. Apparently the driver fled the scene.
The vehicle was headed to Huipulco, near the Azteca Stadium.
Emergency care
The first to arrive at the scene were the paramedics from the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squad (ERUM), who provided care to the injured. Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of CDMX (SSC) also showed up to coordinate the rescue and traffic in the area.
A brigadier-type crane was sent to remove the wrecked truck and clear the road.
