After a closed-door meeting, representatives from various business chambers in southern Sinaloa met with the state’s Secretary of Public Security, Óscar Rentería, where they outlined the port’s security needs.

The president of the ServyTur Mazatlán Chamber of Commerce, Francis Cázarez, said that security must be ongoing and not just during Holy Week and Easter.

The president of the National Chamber of Transformation (Canacintra), Sergio Rojas, stated that patrols in the city are essential, as his members have filed complaints of car thefts, especially at the La Gran Plaza shopping center.

Meanwhile, Erick Mandujano, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry of Seasoned Foods (Canacintra), agreed with the aforementioned representatives that road safety is essential to generating visitor confidence in the tourist destination.
