The celebrations begin on April 12 with the procession of Jesus of Nazareth, departing from the Lienzo Charro Ignacio Zermeño to the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
Palm Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday, April 13, with a procession and Mass with the blessing of palms at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Guadalajara. On Holy Thursday, the Chrism Mass will be held in the cathedral at 10:00 a.m., and there will be a reenactment of the Last Supper in front of the cathedral at 8:00 p.m.

On Holy Saturday, the Remembrance of Mary will be held at 9:00 a.m. on the Sanctuary esplanade, and on Easter Sunday, the Way of Emmaus, the encounter with the Risen Jesus, will take place on the esplanade of the Cathedral from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Cardinal of Guadalajara, José Francisco Robles Ortega, called on the population to live the Holy Week and Easter activities with faith and devotion. “Let us try to live in true spirit these central celebrations of our faith, the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. All these planned activities aim to nourish our spirituality and focus on the mystery,” he commented.
He said that participation in the liturgical celebrations in the cathedral or in the communities’ respective parishes is very important.
These activities will be supported by civil authorities such as the Municipal Police, Medical Services, Civil Protection, among others. In addition, the support of the city councils of Zapopan and Guadalajara will be provided in establishing the necessary infrastructure.
