The Michoacán State Industrial Association (AIEMAC) expressed its support for the announcement made by Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s administration regarding the designation of Morelia as one of the new development hubs for the country’s economic well-being.
In a statement, AIEMAC described the decision as “a firm step toward Michoacán’s economic growth,” highlighting that this designation aims to attract domestic and foreign investment in strategic sectors such as automotive, electric mobility, metalworking, chemicals, the circular economy, and clean energy.
The industrial organization also noted that the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, along with the La Unión region, is in the process of being evaluated to join this federal program, which would expand opportunities for logistics and port development in the coastal region.
“We reaffirm our commitment to the state’s economic growth and development,” AIEMAC emphasizes in the document, while expressing its willingness to work in coordination with the Michoacán government and other authorities to implement these projects.
AIEMAC indicated that it will continue to promote the strengthening of the established business sector, as well as attract new investments that recognize the state’s industrial potential.
