The State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office (FGJEM) has detected that members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) operate in the State of Mexico through cells sent directly from Jalisco, whose members receive specific instructions upon entering the state. This modality of operation was identified after recent arrests and dismantling.
In the latest arrest, authorities captured Anthony “N,” alias “El Tiburón,” identified as the leader of a cell called “Los Deltas,” linked to the CJNG. According to the investigation, he and five alleged accomplices originate from Jalisco and allegedly entered the State of Mexico with the mission of carrying out various criminal activities, including kidnappings and homicides.
The FGJEM reported that “El Tiburón” had operated in the Toluca Valley for at least four years. He is linked to the clandestine grave found on January 12, 2023, in the La Joya neighborhood, in the municipality of Tenango del Valle.
According to the investigation, this individual—also identified as “Delta 1″—may have participated in the deprivation of liberty of 12 people, whose bodies were found under a warehouse that also functioned as a party hall. So far, 10 bodies have been identified and returned; the other two are missing.
Arrest in Tlalmimilolpan
On March 7, 2025, authorities arrested six people, including two teenagers, allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a young woman. Security officers detected a suspicious vehicle, followed it to a home in the town of San Felipe Tlalmimilolpan, and observed several armed individuals getting out of the vehicle with Jalisco license plates. At the scene, they brought a handcuffed woman into the building.
After requesting reinforcements, officers entered the home, arrested the suspects, and rescued the victim, who claimed to have been kidnapped days earlier in Tenango del Valle.
Long and short firearms and live ammunition of various calibers were seized at the scene, as well as tags bearing the words “CJNG,” “DELTAS,” and “CJNG DELTAS.”
