“Events like the 2025 Para Swimming World Series consolidate Mexico as a benchmark in the field of inclusion in sports and physical culture. To all 282 para athletes from 26 nations, and especially to the 186 Mexicans who will compete in the pool at the Guadalajara Metropolitan Aquatic Center, we wish you the greatest success on behalf of our director, Rommel Pacheco,” stated Lenia Ruvalcaba during the presentation.

“Our country has forged a rich history in adaptive sports and has cultivated a growing awareness of inclusion. This effort has been key in supporting our Paralympic athletes, who fill us with pride. We have achieved extraordinary achievements in Para swimming, particularly in the sport. Names like José Arnulfo Castorena Vélez, who won gold at Paris 2024; Ángel de Jesús Camacho Ramírez, with a silver and two bronze medals; and Jesús Alberto Gutiérrez Bermúdez, with a bronze, are a testament to the talent and dedication our Para athletes bring to the sport,” the coordinator emphasized.

Liliana Suárez emphasized: “We are expecting 282 athletes, 160 male and 122 female, from 26 countries, including 186 Mexican competitors. In addition, we will offer a qualification course for technical officials, certified by World Para Swimming, where 30 professionals will receive official certification.”

For his part, Fernando Ortega Ramos, general director of CODE Jalisco, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to once again host an international Paralympic sports event. “The World Series inspires new generations, promotes values such as self-improvement, effort, and national pride. Hosting a World Series event opens up a range of opportunities, both sporting and social,” he said.

Meanwhile, multi-Paralympic medalist Arnulfo Castorena invited the public to witness this international competition. “There are many people with disabilities who are still afraid, who feel judged, or who believe they can’t do it. Today we say to them: Yes, you can! We invite the public to join this movement that transforms lives.”
