As part of the strategy implemented by Governor Salomón Jara Cruz to get the coast back on its feet and reactivate tourism activity in the region following Hurricane Erick, the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur Oaxaca) held a promotional caravan in Cancún, Quintana Roo, and Mérida, Yucatán.
The head of this agency, Saymi Pineda Velasco, emphasized that this campaign focused on highlighting destinations such as Huatulco, Puerto Escondido, and the Puerto Ángel-Ventanilla corridor, which enjoy excellent air and land connectivity.
He highlighted that seminars and personalized visits were held with strategic partners in the sector, including 300 travel agents and more than 20 specialized media outlets. They emphasized the state’s cultural, natural, and gastronomic diversity, in addition to the celebration of Guelaguetza 2025.
There are currently daily flights to Cancún and three weekly flights to Mérida, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Sectur Oaxaca plans its next promotional caravan from August 12th to 14th in Monterrey and Guadalajara, which will help consolidate the state as a competitive destination.
