A joint operation between the Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office and the National Guard led to the rescue of between 25 and 30 women, allegedly victims of human trafficking, during a search of the La Pandemia bar, located in the Centro neighborhood of Playa del Carmen.
The operation took place early Saturday morning at an establishment on 30th Avenue, between 1st South and Juárez Avenues. Witnesses reported that the area was cordoned off by officers from both agencies, and that vehicular and pedestrian access was closed for approximately an hour.
