Looking for a cat to keep you company in your daily life? Or just want to buy your feline a new outfit? Well, you’re in luck. On August 23rd, the Cat Fest CDMX will take place inside the Plaza Cultural Recreativa J.F. Kennedy. A free event that will celebrate cats with a series of unique activities.
According to the Homeless Pet Index by the Mars Pet organization, there are around 27.9 million dogs and cats living on the streets in Mexico. According to N+, there are 9.1 million homeless cats.
Cat adoption event, free Cat Fest CDMX 2025
In response to this problem, recently, gatherings have begun to emerge where Mexico City residents can share their passion and love for these felines. Such is the case with the one that organizers Fan Fest will hold this weekend.
Dubbed “Cat Fest,” this convention will bring together multiple adoption campaigns in one place, the goal of which is to help people find homes for cats in need. To accompany the event, there will be a series of unique activities. Such as:

As is typical with Fan Fest events, there is no cost to enter this cat gathering. In fact, the entire event will be held outdoors, allowing for greater freedom to come and go between all the stands.
In addition, the Cat Fest CDMX will start at 11:00 a.m. and last until after 6:00 p.m. That’s seven hours of meowing taking over the public space of Jardín Balbuena.
