Municipalities with no homicides during the week
The municipalities with no homicides were: El Fuerte, Choix, Juan José Ríos, Guasave, Sinaloa, Angostura, Badiraguato, Eldorado, Cosalá, Concordia, Rosario, and Escuinapa.
Geographic distribution of homicides:
Culiacán: 22 homicides (55% of the state total). The incidents were concentrated in the municipality of Costa Rica, rural areas of the municipality, and neighborhoods in the north and south of the city.
Navolato: 8 homicides (20% of the state total). The incidents were reported in Las Bebelamas de Sataya, in the town of Licenciado Alfredo Valdez Montoya, in the Ciudades Hermanas neighborhood, on Isla Cortés, on the Navolato-Caimancito highway, and another on plots of land in the municipality of Sataya, in the town of La Platanera, and in the community of La Laguna de San Pedro.
Mocorito: 3 homicides (7.5% of the state total). The incidents occurred in the community of Melchor Ocampo.
Mazatlán: 2 homicides (5% of the state total). The incidents occurred in the Benito Juárez neighborhood and the 7 de Abril neighborhood, part of the Villa Unión municipality.
Elota: 2 homicides (5% of the state total). The incidents occurred on the Mazatlán-Culiacán highway.
Other municipalities: Ahome, Salvadores Alvarado, and San Ignacio each reported one case.
With 120 homicides recorded in August 2025, the eighth month of the year closed with a 29.4% decrease compared to July (170).
