Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena promotes industrial projects to transform Yucatán’s economy.

The Governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Mena, met with Roberto Lazzeri Montaño, CEO of Nafin and Bancomext, to consolidate industrial centers, promote technological innovation, and trigger sustainable economic growth in the state.

Díaz Mena held a working meeting with Roberto Lazzeri Montaño, CEO of Nacional Financiera (Nafin) and the National Bank of Foreign Trade (Bancomext), to advance a joint agenda to support the Mayan Renaissance government’s industrial projects.

During the meeting, the following were reviewed:

Financing schemes
Technical support
Business support programs aimed at consolidating modern industrial centers
Generating quality jobs
Strengthening Yucatán’s competitiveness

The state governor emphasized that the Mayan Renaissance not only seeks to attract high-value-added investments, but also to trigger sustainable economic growth that integrates local communities, promotes technological innovation, and ensures a balance between industrial development and environmental protection.

For his part, Lazzeri Montaño highlighted the commitment of Nafin and Bancomext to work hand in hand with the Díaz Mena administration to support projects that strengthen production chains, promote the internationalization of local companies, and generate new growth opportunities in strategic sectors such as advanced manufacturing, agribusiness, and energy.

Altagracia Gómez Sierra, coordinator of the Advisory Council on Regional Economic Development and Relocation (CADERR), also participated in the meeting. She emphasized the importance of establishing strong partnerships between the public and private sectors, as well as designing innovative mechanisms to ensure the active participation of entrepreneurs in large-scale projects.

Representing the Yucatán government were Ermilo Barrera Novelo, head of the Ministry of Economy and Labor (SETY), and Víctor José López Martínez, representative of the state government in Mexico City.

This dialogue between the Yucatan government, development banks, and business representatives represents a decisive step toward consolidating the state as a leader in economic growth in southeastern Mexico.

Through these strategic alliances, the Mayan Renaissance government seeks to transform the Yucatan economy into an engine of innovation, social well-being, and sustainable development for future generations.
