Francisco André, the European Union ambassador to Mexico, highlighted the significant improvement in security indicators in the state of Tamaulipas, governed by Morena’s Américo Villarreal Anaya, a place where he felt an ideal climate of confidence for investment and business development.

During his three-day visit to the state, the official praised the work of Governor Américo, with whom he led a conference with the state Secretary of Economy, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, to present the balance of activities and resulting agreements.

“I felt very safe in Tamaulipas. I was able to see the significant improvement in security indicators, thanks to the commitment of state authorities. This effort has created a climate of security that generates confidence for investment,” he stated.

During the current state administration, investment projects worth more than $151 million have been consolidated, generating 1,190 direct jobs.

During the visit, the diplomatic corps and state authorities agreed that this meeting consolidates Tamaulipas as a reliable and strategic partner for the European Union and opens new avenues for strengthening value chains, technological innovation, and academic collaboration.

Francisco André said that the European Union is Mexico’s second-largest trading partner and the second-largest investor in Tamaulipas, which opens new opportunities in sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing, and clean energy.

For his part, the Governor said: “Our ports are Mexico’s gateway to Europe. We are united by principles such as freedom, equality, and well-being. Cooperation with the European Union strengthens our vision of development.”
