The Baja California Gastronomy Cluster announced the event “From Peninsula to Peninsula,” with the goal of promoting gastronomy and an alliance between Tijuana and Yucatán.

The program includes press conferences, conferences, food showcases, and dinners paired with wines and craft beers from the region, said Hugo León Valle, president of the Gastronomy Cluster.

“There will be workshops, seafood presentations, and academic activities for gastronomy and tourism students, with the goal of strengthening the connection between both peninsulas,” he added.

Chef Martín Muñoz Avilés mentioned that these activities arise from a collaboration agreement with the Yucatán Gastronomy Federation, signed within the framework of the “Tourism Market.”

“Its purpose is to promote the culinary, tourism, and seafood offerings that characterize Baja California, as well as foster cultural, gastronomic, and academic exchange between the two regions,” he stated.

The gastrotourism event will take place from October 23rd to 29th, with activities scheduled in several municipalities of Mérida, including Motul, Valladolid, and Izamal, among others.

“Peninsula to Peninsula” will provide an opportunity to showcase Baja California’s culinary richness in the southeast of the country, boosting tourism and professional exchange, concluded Martín Muñoz.

Participants will include chefs, master grillers, and sommeliers from Baja California, such as Muñoz Avilés, founding president of La Tradición restaurant; chef Carmen Gutiérrez of Remitente restaurant; chef José Esparza, who will host a restaurant with over 100 years of history; and sommeliers Marco Antonio Amador and Samuel Luna, president of the Romanos Club.
