A shooting Wednesday night in the Ixtapa district of Puerto Vallarta left one man dead and another seriously injured after a gunman on a motorcycle stormed into a carpentry workshop and opened fire on the victims.
The incident occurred inside a workshop located on one of the main roads in the district, north of the city, where two men were surprised by the assailant.
According to preliminary reports, one of the men died at the scene, while the other was treated by paramedics for serious injuries.
Witnesses indicated that the attacker acted alone and fled on a motorcycle after the attack. The motive for the attack has not yet been established.
Municipal police officers and agents from the State Attorney General’s Office arrived at the scene to secure the area and conduct the initial investigation to clarify the facts.
Authorities are maintaining an open investigation file while the sequence of events is being established.
