At the same time, the head of the federal executive branch confirmed that on the same day, progress on reducing the workweek to 40 hours will be presented. The mayor indicated that this issue is in an advanced stage and that significant progress has been made in the dialogue sessions between authorities, business leaders, and unions.
“We will soon be announcing, on December 1st, the increase in the minimum wage and the 40-hour workweek.” “An agreement is being reached, and I expect Marath to finalize it in the coming days,” Sheinbaum declared from the National Palace.
The president specified that the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), Marath Bolaños López, is currently leading the talks and coordinating the drafting of the final document, which could be ready in the next few days, thus concluding a negotiation that has been underway for months.
