The Mazatlán 2025 Ciclotour will not only be a sporting celebration with more than two thousand cyclists riding through the streets and iconic routes of the port city, but it will also become an economic engine for the city.
The Sinaloa Tourism Secretariat estimated that the event will generate 20 million pesos in revenue over the weekend, a figure that reflects the direct impact on hotels, restaurants, transportation, and local businesses.
“With the Ciclotour taking place this December 5th and 6th, we will have 2,000 cyclists from Mexico City, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Zacatecas, Jalisco, Nayarit, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Baja California, and Baja California Sur, and we expect an economic impact of 20 million pesos over the weekend,” highlighted the Sinaloa Secretary of Tourism, Mireya Sosa Osuna.
Mazatlán is positioning itself as a leading destination for sports tourism, as each pedal stroke by participants not only promotes health and fitness but also boosts the regional economy.
The festive atmosphere at the Convention Center, with cultural activities, music, and raffles, enhances the experience for those arriving from different states across the country, generating a constant flow of visitors that invigorates the port’s economy.
The sectors that will benefit include lodging, food, transportation, and local commerce.
The 2025 Ciclotour will feature two routes: one of 70 kilometers and the main 140-kilometer route, as well as a race for children aged 3 to 12.
The main 140-kilometer route starts at the Convention Center, travels along the Malecón (boardwalk), continues towards El Recodo, the Picachos Dam, descends through La Noria and El Habal, and finishes back at the Convention Center.
This Friday, December 5th, cyclists will be welcomed. Kit distribution will take place at noon, and starting at 2:00 PM, an Australian Cycling Circuit will be held inside the Convention Center.
On Saturday, December 6th, the opening ceremony will be held at 6:15 AM, followed by the official start of the race at 6:30 AM.
The 15th edition of the Ciclotour confirms that sport can also be a strategy for economic and tourism development, solidifying Mazatlán’s position as a national leader in this type of event.
