Something many of us have already noticed this year
Unlike previous years, today you hardly see any vehicles with US license plates on Mexican highways. It used to be very common to see our fellow countrymen traveling from the north of the country to their destinations, crossing several states by road to visit their families.
Today, the reality is different. Insecurity on the highways, especially in the north, the constant irregular checkpoints, extortion, and the fear of having their vehicles confiscated or being asked for money to continue, have led many to prefer traveling by plane or even to stop coming altogether, especially to states like Michoacán.
