With 50,000 young students having visited Los Cabos in 2025 for their spring break vacations, expectations in the tourism industry have grown for 2026.
Robin Hernández, the Spring Break coordinator in Los Cabos and president of the Association of Professionals and Business Leaders, reported that in this first month of the year, with many weeks still to go before spring break, all reservations at 12 hotels have already been sold.
“It’s coming on strong. It’s been a very difficult year, last year was very difficult, however, we made it, we’re making it. We worked very hard thanks to the people in the United States, to Tony Rodriguez, who makes all the people come together. We’re meeting the terms, we’re meeting the deadlines, and that’s going to benefit the center.”
Hernández described 2025 as a year with great challenges that even affected other favorite Mexican spring break destinations, such as Cancún, which saw a 70 percent drop in visitors, and Puerto Vallarta, which saw a 40 percent drop.
“Here, we managed to stay afloat thanks to good coordination, and it’s not just with business owners, companies, the government, the community, the bartenders, the servers, the cleaning staff—absolutely everyone makes the magic happen. We managed to survive this difficult time.”
