Duarte held a productive working meeting with the Governor of Aguascalientes to discuss cooperation in economic, cultural, agricultural, tourism, and security matters. The meeting served to strengthen ties between Spain and Mexico.

The Mayor of Aguascalientes, Leonardo Montañez, expressed his gratitude for the meeting with the Spanish Ambassador during the commemoration of the 450th anniversary of the founding of the City of Aguascalientes. He presented the diplomat with successful programs and strategic actions implemented in Aguascalientes in the areas of services such as drinking water, security, technology, and medical tourism, which have positioned the state as a leader in the field.

After reviewing the digital dashboard for public services, Ambassador Juan Duarte congratulated the implemented programs and noted the significant commercial activity in Aguascalientes. He emphasized that this institutional collaboration is important for strengthening learning, developing new strategies, and reinforcing economic, political, and industrial ties.

Aguascalientes is an innovative state, small in size but with more than 1.4 million inhabitants, 60% of whom live in its capital city (also named Aguascalientes).

This is the 26th state (out of 32) that the ambassador has officially visited to strengthen ties throughout Mexico. Six states remain before the ambassador can visit the entire country: Chihuahua, Durango, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, and Tamaulipas.
