More than 120 riders, including military and civilian personnel, arrived this Sunday at the facilities of the Ninth Motorized Cavalry Regiment, after participating in a commemorative ride for Army Month and the bicentennial of the creation of the Cavalry branch.

The group departed from the monument known as the Millennium Threshold and traveled between five and seven kilometers to reach the military barracks, located on this border.

The ride lasted approximately three and a half hours.

Second Cavalry Captain Miguel Osio Zacateco reported that 20 mounted military personnel participated in the event, while the rest were civilian groups.

“On the military side, 20 riders participated with their horses, and on the civilian side, approximately 100 or more,” he stated.

He explained that the cavalcade took place during February, designated as Army Month, and as part of the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the creation of the Cavalry branch.

“It’s an activity that reflects the identity of the cavalry and the use of the horse as part of our tradition,” he stated.

At the regiment, information booths were set up for the public, along with an exhibition of vehicles, photographic materials, and medical and communications equipment.

A recruitment and information area was also available for those seeking information about joining the Armed Forces.
