Residents of numerous neighborhoods in the northern and western parts of San Luis Potosí are reporting a pack of dogs terrorizing the area. The dogs are causing damage and are extremely aggressive toward other animals, prompting residents to request intervention from authorities, fearing that these attacks could turn against them.
The complaints come from neighborhoods such as Industrial Aviación, Valle de Jacarandas, Virreyes, Jardines del Estadio, and Balcones del Valle, where residents claim to see the same pack of more than 10 dogs. The reports also mention similar colors and sizes of the animals, leading them to believe it could be a pack whose territory covers several square kilometers.
One of the most recent attacks was on a cat, likely a domestic cat, which they didn’t devour but rather mauled to death. This has residents fearing that, in defense of their territory, the dogs will begin attacking neighbors in these neighborhoods, so they are asking for intervention from the authorities in order to maintain peace in the capital and prevent injuries and diseases that the dogs may transmit.
