Traditional Cuban cuisine has arrived at Miramar Beach in Ciudad Madero, offering a fusion of Mexican and Caribbean dishes thanks to the Noche Cubana restaurant.

Three entrepreneurial women, Mayra Janeth Florentino, her sister Ana, and Raquel Ruiz, joined forces to make this possible and offer a wide variety of dishes for this Holy Week season, along with a spectacular view of the beach.

In a previous post, we told you how Mayra and her husband, Oto Hernández, started this business under the name Noche Cubana, located on Divisoria Street in Altamira.

The restaurant was so popular with the public and eager to expand that Mayra, along with her sister and friend, decided to bring Cuban food to the tourists of Miramar Beach.

“We met six months ago. I knew Raquel first, and then Ana and I had a conversation about gastronomy, and we decided to do this together,” said Mayra Janeth.

She explained that they decided to leverage each of their individual talents to share their unique flavors with people and also to tell their stories.

“One of them enjoyed making drinks, another loved cooking, and I wanted to represent Cuban cuisine a bit more,” she added.

“I really love Mexican food, especially seafood, which is what people come to the beach to enjoy, and we combined it with Cuban cuisine,” Raquel Ruiz pointed out.

Some of the dishes they offer include: entomatadas, enchiladas, flautas, migadas, tortas, hamburgers, and much more.

As for the Cuban cuisine you can try: a lo cubano, pork fricassee, stuffed totones, ropa vieja, and arroz con gri.

Seafood platters and Caribbean platters are the dishes you can enjoy during this holiday season, including everything from breaded fish fillets and shrimp to cocktails and ceviches with their side dishes.

Ana is in charge of preparing these drinks and says that micheladas and piña coladas are among the most popular.

“Well, here on the beach, being a coastal area, people order the most tropical things, like micheladas, piña coladas, and ‘azulitos’ (a type of cocktail), especially since it’s a tourist area,” she said.

“The one we make most often is the michelada: it’s made with beer, Clamato juice, Maggi sauce, and lime; it’s topped with seafood, fruit, and peanuts or any snack the person likes. We also have the Cuban mojito, which is made with mint, rum, sugar, and mineral water,” she added.

Location and Hours: If you’re looking for a relaxing time with Cuban inspiration, Noche Cubana is located on Roberto Cantoral Boulevard, at the entrance across from the Mermaid roundabout on Miramar Beach in Ciudad Madero. It’s open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day of the week.

“We invite you to come and try both our flavors and learn about our story, because as the three of us came up with a saying, ‘every family has a story, and we want you to know ours,'” said Mayra Janeth.

If you want to try something different this Easter break, Noche Cubana is an ideal option for the family. Besides enjoying unique dishes, the restaurant offers a spectacular view.
