Citizens originally from the United States demonstrated this Saturday, the 28th, in the Plaza del Artista, in the center of this port city, to express their rejection of President Donald Trump’s policies, especially regarding immigration and foreign policy. The protesters, who reside in this tourist destination, stated that the decisions of the current U.S. administration have generated division and negative impacts both in their country and abroad.

During the demonstration, some 50 participants emphasized that the restrictive measures implemented by the president violate the rights of migrants. At the site, the protesters warned that they would promote a “protest vote” in their nation’s upcoming elections, considering it the only way for citizens to influence a change in political direction.

They reiterated that, despite being outside their country, they maintain a critical stance against what they described as policies of intervention and exclusion, emphasizing that participation from abroad will be key at the polls.

The protest proceeded without incident in the city center, where the American citizens made their position clear before leaving.
