Nissan continues to define its short- and medium-term strategy. They recently announced some important plans that directly impact Mexico, revealing the arrival of new models, including vehicles of Chinese origin.
Until now, the Japanese brand was one of the few that did not yet offer Chinese cars in the Mexican market, but this will soon change thanks to the arrival of the Nissan N6, Nissan N7, and Nissan NX8, developed in collaboration with Dongfeng.
The first two vehicles are sedans with electrified technology, which could be an option for those looking for a vehicle similar to the Nissan Sentra, but with a more efficient powertrain (plug-in hybrid or 100% electric). The Nissan NX8, meanwhile, is an electrified SUV, offering a range of approximately 1,450 km.

But these will not be the only launches Nissan will have in Mexico, as they also announced that Mexico will be the first market in Latin America to offer the new Nissan Frontier Pro plug-in hybrid.
This is a new pickup truck based on the model that was presented last year in China. However, the truck that will be sold in Mexico will be locally produced (manufacturing will take place in Aguascalientes).
This new Nissan Frontier Pro has a modern design and a focus on adventure, although the brand assures that it will also be a comfortable and efficient vehicle for daily commutes.
For now, we know that it will use a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor integrated into the transmission. Although there are no official specifications for our market, we can expect around 400 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, with an electric-only range exceeding 100 km.
More details and specifications about the new Nissan models of Chinese origin will be released later. The pickup will be launched in a few weeks, while its siblings will likely arrive before the end of this year.
