During the Tianguis Turístico 2026 and Grupo Brisas’ 25th anniversary, four new hotels were announced in Los Cabos and Mexico City.

To learn more, we interviewed Antonio Cosío Pando, CEO of Grupo Brisas.

What are the new hotels opening in Mexico City?

In Mexico City, Grupo Brisas plans to expand its presence with three new hotels in different parts of the capital.

On Avenida Insurgentes, very close to the WTC, the CEO of Grupo Brisas indicates that they are working on a larger Galería Plaza, which will have around 400 rooms, a rooftop terrace, a pool, a gym, a restaurant, and at least a convention center or large ballrooms.

In the Historic Center, specifically on Calle 5 de Febrero, they will remodel a small house protected by the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History). While there isn’t much that can be done to it, it will have 30 rooms, a rooftop terrace, a pool, and a small gym.

The third property will be located within the Frontón México complex, across from the Monument to the Revolution. Cosío Pando announced that this hotel will have between 110 and 120 rooms.

At the moment, discussions are still underway regarding which brands will occupy these last two hotels. “They will be operated by us, but we are analyzing whether they will be our own new boutique hotel brands or if we will contract with international brands.”

The largest hotel in Grupo Brisas’ expansion plans will be built in Los Cabos, and Cosío Pando indicates that it is currently “very advanced in terms of permits and paperwork.”

He affirms that it will be a “very ambitious project”; it will be located on a 120-hectare plot of land and will bear the Nizuc brand, one of the company’s most luxurious and exclusive brands.

The land “can accommodate two to three additional hotels in the future,” will include a residential area, and “we are still considering whether there will be a golf course or some other similar amenity.”

Cosío Pando notes that this hotel will have “direct beach access, a gym, several restaurants, and a spa that won’t be your typical spa, but rather a Nizuc Wellness spa where we will be introducing stem cell and exosome treatments (to name a few), in partnership with the regenerative medicine company Kaloni.”

When will the new Grupo Brisas hotels open?

Antonio Cosío Pando, CEO of Grupo Brisas, says that construction of the new Nizuc Los Cabos hotel is expected to begin at the end of the year. “Being a more ambitious project, it will take three to four years to complete.”

In the case of the properties in the Historic Center and Frontón México, construction is also planned to begin during 2026, although there is no tentative opening date yet.

Cosío Pando indicates that construction on the Galería Plaza on Insurgentes Avenue “could begin in 2027.”
