Martha Elba Dávila Pérez, a judge on the Aguascalientes Judicial Disciplinary Tribunal, was arrested, allegedly after refusing to pay her bill at a fairground establishment.
Witnesses claim that the judge tried to avoid paying by arguing, “I am a judge,” as municipal police officers intervened.
Videos circulating on social media show her being handcuffed and placed in a patrol car.
A man identified as Alejandro Jorge García Gómez, a state official and the judge’s alleged husband, was also reportedly arrested.
As of now, Aguascalientes authorities have not officially confirmed any potential sanctions or the legal status of either individual involved.
