Following the issuance of health alerts by the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) regarding counterfeit Ozempic pens, a medication for adults with diabetes, the Sonora State Health Department is urging the public to verify the product before purchasing it.
Following the health alerts issued by Cofepris on March 26 and May 25, 2026, the Sonora State Government, through the Public Health Department (SSP) and the Sonora State Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (Coesprisson), is asking users of the medication to exercise extreme caution due to the identification of these counterfeit products, which require medical supervision for safe use.
The SSP reiterated the importance of purchasing medications only from formal establishments, such as authorized pharmacies, and avoiding their purchase through social media, websites, mobile applications, markets, street markets, or any informal sales point.
