The Municipality of Tarimoro announced this Saturday the removal of Antonio Acevedo Rodríguez from his position as Chief Administrative Officer, following the circulation of a memo addressed to coordinators and directors demanding that 50 percent of his staff attend the event commemorating the two-year anniversary of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s electoral victory, held this Sunday in Celaya.
“The Tarimoro Municipal Government has decided to remove the Chief Administrative Officer from his position, by mutual agreement, as a consequence of an erroneous and unilateral decision on his part, which is unacceptable for the head of said department. This Municipal Administration 2024-2027, headed by Mayor Saúl Trejo Rojas, is and will be respectful of every individual.”
Commemorative event for the two-year anniversary of the electoral victory of the President of Mexico, to be held this Sunday in Celaya.
The official document, identified as OM/227/2026 from the Office of the Mayor and dated May 28, was signed by Antonio Acevedo Rodríguez. It stated that attendance at the event was “mandatory” and that the instruction came from the mayor himself, Saúl Trejo Rojas.
It also indicated that if the assigned person did not attend the event, they would be subject to an administrative sanction. In contrast, those who complied with the order would receive a day off as a token of appreciation, subject to the availability of each department.
Claudia Sheinbaum stated this during the morning press conference.
“Furthermore, the Municipal Government of Tarimoro reaffirms its commitment to preventing any similar situation from occurring in the future due to decisions made by its officials that not only tarnish the good governance of the municipality, but, more importantly, protect the individual rights of each employee.” The event, which was mandatory, took place this Sunday at the Ecoforum in Celaya, starting at 10:00 a.m. More than 10,000 people were expected to attend to hear the President of the Republic’s message commemorating the two-year anniversary of her victory in the 2024 elections.
