The Mexican Alliance of Transportation Organizations (AMOTAC) confirmed the exact time the scheduled highway blockades will begin this Wednesday, June 24, on major highways throughout Mexico.
Through social media, AMOTAC reported that the areas at greatest risk of traffic gridlock will be key access routes to Mexico City, including the Mexico-Querétaro, Mexico-Puebla, Mexico-Cuernavaca, and Mexico-Pachuca highways, as well as strategic roads in states such as Puebla, Tlaxcala, and Veracruz.
What time do the highway blockades begin in Mexico on June 24?
According to AMOTAC, the mobilization is scheduled to officially begin at 7:00 a.m. in most of Mexico, while in the Valley of Mexico, groups will begin to gather starting at 8:00 a.m.
Because the closures will be partial but widespread, motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance, use alternative free routes, or reschedule non-essential trips to avoid getting stranded on the roads.
