The Mexican government, through the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), headed by Jesús Esteva Medina, reports that the construction of the Amado Nervo Bridge, which will connect Nayarit and Jalisco, is 80 percent complete.

With an investment of 930 million pesos, this project will benefit approximately 500,000 residents of both states, allowing for travel time savings of up to 25 minutes between the municipality of Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta.

The Amado Nervo Bridge will have a main structure length of 800 meters and 1.22 kilometers of access roads, crossing the Ameca River. It will also feature three lanes in each direction, which will expedite traffic flow at its connection to Federal Highway Mex 200.

Among the project’s progress are the completion of the substructure, substructure, and superstructure; work is currently underway on curbs, parapets, and access roads.

The vehicular overpass represents a strategic solution for strengthening regional connectivity, reducing traffic congestion, improving tourism mobility, and decreasing traffic-related pollutant emissions.

The modernization of the Amado Nervo Bridge is expected to be completed in July of this year and will generate 2,700 jobs.

This project is a key component of the National Highway Infrastructure Program 2025-2030, which aims to develop infrastructure that promotes social inclusion, sustainability, and balanced territorial development.
