The growth of international tourism to Mexico represents an opportunity for San Luis Potosí, whose tourism offerings and geographic location favor the arrival of national and international visitors who explore destinations such as Real de Catorce, Xilitla, the Media Luna region, and the state capital.
According to the INEGI International Travelers Survey, 8.36 million international travelers entered the country during May 2016, representing a 5.3 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
The state’s land and air connectivity, as well as its tourism, cultural, gastronomic, and nature offerings, allow a significant number of visitors to include San Luis Potosí in their itineraries through central Mexico, for both vacation and business purposes.
The United States continues to be the main source market for international tourists to Mexico, a condition that represents an opportunity to continue promoting destinations in San Luis Potosí and strengthening tourism activity in the four regions of the state.
