Thousands of riders and families participated this Saturday in the traditional San Buenaventura Horseback Ride, one of Coahuila’s most representative equestrian celebrations, which, in addition to preserving northern customs, generates significant economic benefits for the Central Region.
During the ride, Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas emphasized that these types of events reflect the state’s cowboy identity and are made possible by the security conditions that prevail in the state.
“Today, our people can travel from one region to another in peace and freedom… This allows us to enjoy our traditions as a family and continue strengthening tourism and the economy of our communities,” he stated.
The governor noted that the horseback ride, along with the San Buenaventura Fair, which boasts over eight decades of history, is part of Coahuila’s cultural heritage and brings together thousands of participants from different regions of the state each year.
Security Highlighted as Foundation for These Events
Jiménez Salinas affirmed that Coahuila has established itself as one of the states with the strongest equestrian tradition in the country and compared its events to internationally renowned festivals, such as the Calgary Rodeo in Canada and the rodeos in Houston and Fort Worth in the United States.
He also emphasized that security has allowed for the promotion of these types of activities, creating conditions that allow families to attend with peace of mind and fostering tourism and commercial development in the municipalities.
The governor reiterated that his administration will continue to strengthen the security strategy through investment in infrastructure, equipment, and coordination with the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Attorney General’s Office, and the municipalities.
Promoting Economic Development in the Central Region
He also noted that, in parallel, the State Government is maintaining actions to promote the economic reactivation of the Central Region, with the goal of recovering jobs, attracting new investments, and generating greater opportunities for Coahuila families.
Finally, he invited residents from all regions of the state and visitors from other states to participate in the various traditional festivities that are celebrated in Coahuila throughout the year.
