“Today we reiterate our commitment to work with all our strength, all our energy, all our dedication and love for Coahuila, so that this state continues to have the best conditions for development,” said Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas as he accompanied Grupo GIASA executives at the inauguration of the GEMMSA Metal Structures plant, in which more than 600 million pesos were invested during its first phase.
“By working as a team, society and government, we have made Coahuila not only the best place to live in Mexico, but also the best place to invest. That is why investments continue to flow into our state.
“Today we were at the start of operations for GEMMSA in Saltillo, which, with an investment of 600 million pesos, helps us generate more jobs and greater development in the Southeast region.
” “Congratulations to the Elizalde family for this investment and for continuing to trust in this land of opportunity, where projects become reality. We reiterate our commitment to being a strong ally to anyone who wants to work, start a business, and invest in Coahuila,” the governor added.
Manolo Jiménez congratulated and thanked Grupo GIASA, a proudly Coahuilan company, for its investment and assured them that this new project will be as successful as the company itself.
“With this type of investment, we send a very important message both nationally and internationally: that, despite global economic uncertainty, investments continue to materialize throughout the state of Coahuila,” he stated.
He pointed out that Coahuila offers the greatest possible certainty in job stability, the rule of law, a skilled workforce, services, and security—conditions built with the participation of everyone.
He commented that the state currently offers better living conditions and investment opportunities than the vast majority of other states in the country. He noted that Coahuila is the second safest state in Mexico and that Saltillo, Torreón, and Piedras Negras are among the six safest cities.
He added that INEGI (the National Institute of Statistics and Geography) recently published a study on the states with the best quality of life in Mexico, in which Coahuila ranked first, an achievement that, he said, belongs to everyone.
“These achievements are the product of great synergy among the people of Coahuila: citizens, organized civil society, the private sector, and all three levels of government. This teamwork also sets us apart from the rest of the country,” he stated.
He reiterated that his government does not seek to polarize, divide, or confront, but rather that his administration has always positioned Saltillo and Coahuila as a point of convergence.
Humberto Elizalde Serrano, CEO of Grupo GIASA, mentioned that the decision to locate this plant in Saltillo, considered one of the most modern in the country, was made due to the existing security conditions in the state.
He added that the positive results and development achieved in Coahuila reflect the work of the authorities led by Governor Manolo Jiménez.
Also present at the inauguration of GEMMSA Estructuras Metálicas were Beatriz Fraustro Dávila, President of the Board of Directors of the State Congress; Luis Olivares Martínez, Secretary of Economy; Juan Carlos Villarreal Garza, representing Mayor Javier Díaz González; Humberto Antonio Elizalde González, Director of Strategic Planning for Grupo GIASA; Roberto Salgado Flores, Director of Operations; Karen Elizalde González, Director of Financial Planning; and Yisely González Loya, Administrative Director of Grupo GIASA.
