Chiapas’ gastronomy strengthened its national presence during an institutional mission to Puebla, where representatives of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) Chiapas established collaborative ties with the Puebla restaurant sector.
The meeting aimed to forge new alliances to support restaurants, businesses, traditional cooks, producers, and entrepreneurs, as well as expand opportunities to promote Chiapas’ rich culinary heritage both within and outside the state.
Canirac Chiapas emphasized that collaboration between the two states will allow them to build a joint agenda that contributes to the development of the gastronomic and tourism industries, leveraging the identity, tradition, and culinary diversity that characterize Puebla and Chiapas.
During the visit, the business organization acknowledged Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar’s support for promoting a policy that considers gastronomy and tourism as drivers of economic development. They also expressed their gratitude to Gerardo Toledo for his participation in this institutional mission.
The participation of the national president of Canirac, Ignacio “Taico” Alarcón; the executive president, Claudia Ramírez; and the president of Canirac Puebla, Juan José Sánchez Martínez, and his team was also highlighted.
“When identity, tradition, and collaboration come together, gastronomy becomes a bridge that connects regions, strengthens alliances, and projects Mexico to the world,” Canirac Chiapas emphasized.
The organization affirmed that it will continue working to strengthen the representation of the Chiapas restaurant sector and generate greater opportunities for its members and associates through alliances that will position the state’s gastronomy in new national markets.
With this meeting, Chiapas and Puebla strengthen ties between two destinations with a rich culinary tradition, positioning gastronomy as a tool for tourism promotion, economic development, and the preservation of cultural identity.
