On Saturday, August 1st, several motorists experienced frightening moments on the Silao-Guanajuato highway after unidentified individuals allegedly threw rocks at moving vehicles.
Preliminary reports indicate that at least nine cars had their windshields smashed, posing a significant risk to the drivers and families traveling through the area. Fortunately, no serious injuries have been reported so far, though the situation could easily have ended in tragedy.
What has caused even greater outrage among those affected is the claim that the concessionaire’s insurance company refuses to accept liability for the damage, leaving drivers to cover repair costs—despite the incident occurring on a toll road.
Paying a toll for a safe journey only to end up with a shattered windshield is hardly the service one expects.
Those affected are demanding increased security, the identification of those responsible, and for the concessionaire to take responsibility for the damages caused.
