With a budget of more than 67 million pesos, the government of Nayarit began the comprehensive rehabilitation of the emblematic Acayapan swimming pool and supervised the construction of the modern facilities of the state Radio and Television System.
The governor of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, conducted a supervision tour of strategic projects in Tepic, where he verified the progress of projects representing a combined investment of more than 67 million pesos, aimed at recovering public spaces and strengthening the infrastructure of the state media outlets.
As part of the working tour, the governor officially launched the first stage of the comprehensive rehabilitation of the public swimming pool in the Acayapan neighborhood, a space that had remained abandoned for more than two decades and that will now be restored for the benefit of Nayarit families. The project includes an investment of nearly 12 million pesos and includes the following:
- Demolition of the existing structure.
- Land leveling.
- Construction of a perimeter wall.
- Concrete floors.
- Palapas.
- Rehabilitation.
- Resurfacing of the swimming pool.
- Installation of the necessary equipment for its operation.
Navarro Quintero Promotes Better Spaces for Social Interaction
During the start of the work, Navarro Quintero explained that the recovery of this site is part of his administration’s strategy to restore spaces for social interaction.
“We have accepted, as part of an entire stage, the administration’s effort to rectify social spaces. This was a source, people used to come here to the resort, which was a social resort, and there were also washing facilities here that served a social function. I took on the task of trying to recover these spaces because I want to leave this family space in a very dignified condition and make it a complement to La Loma,” he said.
The governor emphasized that the rehabilitation will allow citizens to regain a safe space for sports, recreation, and social interaction, especially for children and young people.
Historic Renovation: More Than 41 Million to Strengthen Radio and Television of Nayarit
Later, the head of the state executive branch supervised the progress of the new facilities of the Nayarit Radio and Television System, a project in which the state government is investing more than 41 million pesos.
The new complex will offer modern, safe, and functional facilities for journalists, reporters, producers, advertisers, and administrative staff, with the goal of strengthening the operation of the public media outlet and improving the conditions under which information is produced for citizens.
During the tour, Navarro Quintero instructed that the new facilities should also serve as a meeting space for Nayarit’s communicators, where they can always find support and open doors. He also proposed that one of the rooms be named after journalist Luis Martín Sánchez Íñiguez, in recognition of his career and legacy in journalism.
For her part, the president of the Nayarit DIF System, Beatriz Estrada Martínez, stated that strengthening public media also means dignifying the work of those who inform society every day.
“I know that these new facilities will also provide you with security, peace of mind, and, above all, the opportunity to carry out your work as you have always done, but with better quality and greater confidence. These are world-class facilities, dignified facilities for the Radio and Television of the State of Nayarit,” she stated.
With these actions, the government of Nayarit seeks to strengthen both social infrastructure and spaces dedicated to public communication, promoting projects that, according to state authorities, will contribute to the well-being of families and the institutional development of the state.
