The Miguel Hidalgo borough has set up an assistance module to provide guidance and support to residents who have been victims of property dispossession or who are at risk of losing their property because of this crime.
Starting this Monday, assistance will be available at the borough’s main square.
During the Citizen Wednesdays program, staff will be available to assist, guide, and accompany people facing this situation.
Mauricio Tabe, mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, stated that property dispossession is a crime that must be firmly addressed. He also recalled that it is the responsibility of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City to investigate each and every case, secure the property, and punish those found responsible.
“We are not going to stand idly by. We are going to guide our neighbors and take their cases to the Attorney General’s Office so that they are heard and so that we can defend their property and protect the assets they have built through years of hard work,” he stated in a press release.
The assistance module will be located at the Miguel Hidalgo Borough headquarters, operating from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Tabe emphasized that the borough will not replace the functions of the Attorney General’s Office, but it will do everything within its power to accompany, guide, and support victims, as well as prevent residents from having to face alone a situation that puts at risk the property and assets they have built over many years.
