Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena reported that 20 agreements have already been signed, bringing the total to 38,500 homes, while an additional 9,000 homes will be built in 29 municipalities across Yucatán.
During a connection with the National Palace, authorities reported progress toward the six-year goal of the Housing for Well-Being Program, with 208 homes delivered this day in the municipality of Kanasín.
Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena reported that 20 agreements have already been signed, bringing the total to 38,500 homes, with an additional 9,000 homes planned for 29 municipalities in Yucatán.
“We are bringing housing to communities throughout the state, making the objective of the Mayan renaissance a reality, ending the economic inequality that the people of Yucatán have suffered for centuries, and giving them the opportunity to have decent housing for their families, creating the shared prosperity that you always promote,” he stated.
Edna Elena Vega Rangel, Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development, said that the goal for the state is 72,770 homes, and that 66% of the six-year goal has already been reached.
“We are doing very well with the support of the governor and the mayors. Through CONAVI, the goal is 10,000 homes; INFONAVIT will provide 60,000, and FOVISSSTE 2,770,” she explained.
“I wanted to tell the president that within the same housing development there is a Social World Cup court that turned out very well. It is wonderful to see both projects together—housing and Social World Cup. I also want to send greetings to Romel because we worked on this together in this beautiful state,” she added.
INFONAVIT continues delivering homes
Octavio Romero Oropeza, Director General of INFONAVIT, explained that homes are currently being delivered in 112 housing developments.
“Of these, 40 are already 100% sold out, and there are now 34,300 people who have been placed in homes. This month of August, Madam President, we will open 14 more housing developments across the country, and another 14 in September,” he added.
Ana Carolina Kim Flores, a beneficiary of the Housing for Well-Being Program, expressed her gratitude for receiving her new home.
