Three naval personnel were injured following the emergency landing of an MI-17 helicopter that was conducting surveillance operations in the La Garita area, in the municipality of Tamazula de Gordiano, Jalisco.
According to information from the Mexican Navy Secretariat (SEMAR), the incident occurred while naval personnel were carrying out activities aimed at preventing illegal activities in the area.
The Navy reported that the incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m., when the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing.
The MI-17 helicopter of the Mexican Navy performed a controlled descent that allowed the aircraft to land safely, although three members of the crew were injured.
Three Naval Personnel Injured
Following the emergency landing, emergency services and authorities arrived at the site to assist the crew members and assess the condition of the aircraft.
The Secretariat of the Navy confirmed that there were no fatalities.
The three naval personnel were injured but did not suffer serious injuries. They received medical attention following the incident in La Garita, Tamazula de Gordiano.
The Navy reported that the causes of the emergency landing are still under investigation and that authorities are evaluating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The injured naval personnel are also receiving the necessary medical care.
