Aguascalientes ranks among the states with the shortest waiting times for filing a complaint, according to recent data from the Prosecutor’s Office Performance Index by Impunidad Cero. In the state, the average waiting time is 60 minutes, while nationally it exceeds four hours.

“Aguascalientes ranks second nationally, tied with Coahuila, in the percentage of reported crimes. We should remember that nationally there is a high rate of impunity, where very few crimes are reported and very few cases are taken to court,” said Manuel Alonso García, Attorney General of the State of Aguascalientes.

According to the indicator, 16.5% of users in Aguascalientes wait around one hour to file a complaint, compared with the 34% recorded nationally among those who must wait more than four hours.

The attorney general highlighted that the state also records a higher proportion of reported crimes, at 12.7%, compared with the national average of 9.6%.

“This shows that we have greater responsibility or workload, and we rank second, where people report crimes the most and come to the Prosecutor’s Office, at 12.7%, while the national reporting rate is 9.6%.”

These figures place Aguascalientes among the states with better service times for filing complaints, although the volume of cases also represents a greater workload for the Prosecutor’s Office.
