The Consorcio Constructor Saltillo, S.A. de C.V., based in the city of Saltillo, was confirmed as the winner of the public tender to carry out the first stage of the Gran Forum de Expo Coahuila, a new venue for conventions and concerts in the state capital. According to information from Vanguardia shared this Wednesday, August 19, the contract involves an investment of 677 million 560 thousand pesos.
The aforementioned source reported that the decision was issued this week by the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Development and Mobility of Coahuila (SIDUM), as part of three procurement processes related to the construction of the venue.

In addition to Consorcio Constructor Saltillo, two other companies were selected for specific parts of the project.
Tecnología Estructural Mexicana joins the project
The company Tecnología Estructural Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., based in Gómez Palacio, Durango, was awarded the contract to carry out the metal structure stage of the Gran Forum.
The accepted proposal amounts to 161 million 430 thousand pesos and includes an estimated 180-day period to complete the work.
Constructora Casteldefels
Meanwhile, Constructora Casteldefels, S.A. de C.V., with a registered address in Saltillo, was awarded the contract to develop the medium- and low-voltage electrical system, for an amount of 30 million 244 thousand pesos.
This represents the company’s seventh tender awarded within the Expo Coahuila project. Among the work it has previously carried out are topographic studies, the Expo Coahuila executive project, the Gran Forum executive project, and various demolition works.
How long will construction of the Gran Forum take?
The tender processes establish different execution periods. The first construction stage, to be carried out by Consorcio Constructor Saltillo, will have an estimated duration of 360 days. Meanwhile, the works corresponding to the metal structure and the electrical system each have an estimated execution period of 180 days.
In all three tenders, the awarded companies were the only ones to submit proposals for the corresponding work.

The Gran Forum de Expo Coahuila will have 40 private suites, including one VIP suite, as well as 800 parking spaces.

With the new awards, the project is advancing across different areas of construction and technical specialization, while work continues to establish the new event venue in the capital of Coahuila.
