The two individuals were located using a drone, allowing emergency teams to pinpoint their position as they were being swept away by the currents. One of them managed to get out of the water on their own.
The second swimmer was assisted by a lifeguard, who carried out the rescue with the support of personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar).
Once brought to safety, both individuals were assessed by emergency teams and did not require hospitalization, according to a report by N+.
The incident highlights the risks that currents and sea conditions pose to beachgoers; therefore, it is recommended to heed the instructions of lifeguards and authorities before entering the water.
