The state cabinet coordinator, José Luis García Parra, rejected the implementation of a citizen consultation to determine whether the Cablebús should be built in Puebla, arguing that the project already has the support of two million people.
During his program, Derecho de Réplica, he stated that the Cablebús project in Puebla, promoted by Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier, is backed by nearly two million people.
He explained that the citizen consultation that approved the Cablebús in Puebla took place at the polls during the 2024 elections.
He also recalled that the project was part of the governor’s campaign commitments and that his victory represents public acceptance of the proposal.
“The governor promised a cable transportation system in Puebla during the 2024 campaign. What better citizen consultation could there be than that? It was part of his campaign proposals, and he won with almost 2 million votes.”
The official added that TV Azteca, a company owned by Ricardo Salinas Pliego, has published 1,104 reports opposing the Puebla Cablebús.
He maintained that the material is being replicated in Puebla and other states, including Zacatecas, Baja California, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, and Yucatán.
Puebla Government Will Begin Construction of the Cablebús at Parque Biblioteca
This Monday, the Puebla government announced the beginning of construction of the Cablebús stations at Parque Biblioteca.
According to cabinet coordinator José Luis García, construction will begin during the second week of September.
However, during the week of September 15 to 20, additional construction projects are scheduled to begin in areas such as Parque Juárez and Amalucan.
Meanwhile, at the end of October, the state administration will begin construction in the median area designated in Mayorazgo.
Among the details he provided during a press conference was the construction of five stations in San Andrés Cholula.
For this project, he explained, the Subregional Urban Development Program of the Atlixcáyotl Territorial Reserve will be modified.
Another claim that he rejected was that the Puebla City Council had given properties to the state for the construction of the Cablebús.
The official stated that the municipality had only provided delimited areas, while the green areas will remain under municipal ownership.
